Camden, in north London, where Amy Winehouse lived, psychedelia thrived and Britpop flourished, is to host a Hollywood-style Music Walk of Fame from next spring.

The walk, an official spin-off from the star-studded attraction on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, will run between Chalk Farm and Mornington Crescent and will be laid with granite slabs commemorating more than 400 artists over the next 20 years.

London is set to become home to a global Music Walk of Fame from spring 2019 onwards.

Set in Camden Town, the 1.3mile stretch of pavement between Chalk Farm’s The Roundhouse and Mornington Crescent’s KOKO will immortalise international artists, industry names, unsung heroes, innovators, artists of the year and iconic gig venues.

Commencing with a ‘Founding Stone’ on Camden High Street in February, the inaugural Hollywood Walk of Fame-style stones will officially be launched with a series of ceremonies in March. These will the first of a planned 400 plus stones over the next 20 years.
